Description

On May 18th, June 1st, and June 15th from 9 am to noon, Katherine Dobrenen will be teaching Advanced Brioche: The Blooming Brioche Shawl by Xandy Peters.

This workshop is designed to allow you to LEARN and then PRACTICE. The sessions are spaced 2 weeks apart to allow you to complete one section of the Blooming Brioche shawl before learning the new stitch variations in the next section. In each session, we will be watching Zandy’s videos and then doing the stitch variations with help from Katherine and each other!

You will need to purchase (and print if desired) the pattern in advance and bring it with you to class.
If you are a “swatcher”, please see page 3 of pattern and complete the swatch as desired.
You *must* know basic brioche and have finished at least one brioche project.
You will need 2 contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn. See pattern detail for yardage (small or large shawl). If you want to use 2 sets of gradients or something like that, please make sure you have the total amount of yardage for your desired size.

Location TBD. We will try to hold this at a library, but we can only reserve those rooms 60 days out. So location will depend on availability.

Schedule:

• May 18 – Pages 1-10 of pattern: Blooming Brioche – Preparing the Ground (casting on) and Stage 1 – Roots, Seeds & Bulbs
• June 1 – Pages 11-22 of pattern: Blooming Brioche Stage 2 – Sprouts, Leaves, & Vines
• June 15 – Pages 23-33 of pattern: Blooming Brioche Stage 3 – Stems, Buds & Petals
