About SCKG
“The purpose of the Guild shall be to provide education and communication to advance the quality of workmanship and creativity in its members’ knitting endeavor(s).”
SC Knitting Guild started in 1991 by Sue Esser who passed away earlier this year.
Sue Esser
September 5,1932 – March 3, 2019
Sue started the South Carolina Knitting Guild in 1991. She learned to knit as a young child and became a well-known Master knitter. Her work was published in Leisure Arts Fashion Plus and Country Handcrafts, and she designed several patterns. She self-published Sue’s Clues, A Treasury of Knitting Techniques. She was an inspiration to all she met.
