Description
This is a two hour technique class to learn the Norwegian way of knitting and purling. Norwegian knitting and purling is a very efficient and ergonomic way to knit. It’s especially good for ribbing, because you don’t move the yarn from front to back. It is similar to continental knitting as you hold the yarn in your left hand, but it has some significant differences.
Skills needed: This is not a learn to knit class. You must know how to cast on, knit, and purl, and have knitted a few projects.
Homework: cast on 30 stitches and knit 4 rows in garter stitch and 4 or 5 rows in stockinette stitch ending with a purl row. Leave the stitches on the needles.
Bring with you: Smooth (nothing fuzzy), light colored, worsted weight yarn and a set of circular needles (any length will do) in size US 6, 7, or 8.
Class size limit: 8
Cost: $25
